Owned by brothers Joe and Gus Salce, The Starting Line is a boutique that specializes in menswear, featuring fashion that ranges from rare and limited edition sneakers to trendy T-shirts, and from both chic and casual bags to a plethora of other men’s accessories.

Located in Chelsea, this casual menswear boutique carries classic and unique brands for the young, athletic, and body-conscious man. Looking for a stylish new pair of sneakers? It's no wonder that sneaker collectors begin their hunt for the perfect pair at The Starting Line, where exclusive sneaker assortments arrive weekly. You will find special collections from Nike, Puma, Adidas, and Converse that you won’t find in major department stores. The Starting Line also carries limited designer collections, such as the Jon Varvatos collection by Converse, which are distributed specifically to the smaller boutiques. Having trouble finding a particular brand? The store also carries lesser known, but equally fashionable sneaker brands, such as Palladium and Tretorn.

In addition to their rare sneakers, storeowners and brothers Joe and Gus Salce sell trendy T-shirts, which “are a staple at The Starting Line.” They feature fashion-forward clothing by Sketchbook, Black Hearts Brigade, Fluxus, and Spanish brand Desigual. They also carry local labels, from Paste Shirts, and Label New York along with Supermaggie from Los Angeles. In fact, Label New York designer Jeffrey Goldstein is among the friendly and helpful staff at The Starting Line. His shirts are “made in the USA” and hand-dyed by Goldstein himself. Each collection is created in a limited edition. Made for both men and women, Label New York designs are unlike any other; they are based on sacred geometry and ancient astrology, emphasizing the spiritual and occult.

Bags are another big seller at the store. The Starting Line offers casual gym bags, like those by Adidas and Puma, and sophisticated bags, such as Property Of and Ro bags. An abundance of other apparel and accessories is also available, such as swimwear by Park and Ronen, seasonal men's sandals and hats, unusual wallets, belts and wrist wear. To discover an extraordinary array of menswear and accessories, make sure to begin your shopping experience at The Starting Line. With new items flowing onto the racks each week, customers who frequent The Starting Line will find fresh fashion with every visit.
