A stylish outfit often needs the perfect finishing touch to pull it together, and fashion designer Sabina Les has built a successful career around this concept. Her silk scarves are the perfect punctuation to any ensemble, with their vibrant colors and elaborate, hand- sketched prints.
Sabina is no stranger to entrepreneurship — she and her family arrived in America from Kiev, Ukraine in the late eighties and successfully worked their way towards the American Dream. Over the years, Sabina gained a strong understanding of business through hands-on involvement in her father’s company and the pursuit of a college degree in Marketing. Her keen sense of fashion inevitably drew her to design.
During her ten years in the industry, Sabina designed for a whole slew of notable clients, including Gap, Guess, Nautica, and Dollhouse. However, she always had a secret yearning to develop her own significant lifestyle brand. When the recession took away her full-time job several months ago, it was a blessing in disguise. Sabina finally got the chance to combine her acute knowledge of business and fashion and launch her own collection.
The focus on silk printed scarves stems from Sabina’s lifelong addiction to the chic accessory. Her collection consists of Bespoke Red Dream (made of French and Italian silk chiffon), solid scarves, and her main focus, the signature print scarves. In her signature prints, a chain-link design often mingles with more delicate floral details and fine, dotted lines. Other designs pull from fun, eclectic animal prints, such as leopard or reptile-skin patterns. The contrast of edgy multidimensional elements against soft, cool silks results in an irresistibly eye-catching accessory.
Sabina Les’ collection is popular with a widely-varied clientele, from youthful teenagers to men looking for the perfect gift to purchase for their wife or girlfriend. For those seeking a youthful but effortlessly sophisticated addition to their wardrobe, Sabina’s scarves are perfect. In her silk creations, the designer has successfully conjured up a fresh and cheekily cool spirit, one that manages to be interesting without being over-serious.
Sabina’s scarves are currently carried by various clients in Japan and Australia, and can also be purchased through her website, SabinaLes.com.
