Set in a charming boutique in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Clarabella will delight the curious shopper with its unique pieces from both local and international designers. For this intimate accessory shop, the owner Erin, prefers to personally know all the designers she represents so shoppers can be rest assured that selections are as close as can be to hand-picked items for the boutique. The lines of shoes, accessories, handbags and artwork come from a wide array of designers and are affordable and even customizable. With the focus on supporting local designers, the boutique not only has a truly unique line but is also the perfect place to find gifts for him and her.

Some local designers include Judith Haas (http://JudithHaas.com) who hails from the Netherlands and is now located in Williamsburg. Her jewelry designs for men and women include rings and cuff links in organic shapes inspired by nature. Another Brooklyn based artist is Tam Aura (http://TamAura.com) whose versatility in jewelry design takes shape in sterling silver, wood and concrete. Other lines include handmade jewelry in sterling silver by Leo Works, brass designs by designer Nichole Gayne, and Gene (Jene?) Despain’s (http://JeneDespain.com) designs in sterling silver and 14 karat gold fill.

Designers of international repute include Erica Pacey, a Brazilian designer of Nugaard Designs, whose beautiful, one-of-a-kind creations are of semi-precious stones and dehydrated Brazilian plant leaves. Some pieces are dipped in gold while others are constructed from Golden Grass, a special grass that gives the pieces the look of fine hair. Page Sargisson (http://www.PageSargisson.com) from Mid-town, is another designer well-known for her use of non-traditional materials: she imports wooden blocks from India in her inspirational designs. Elegant initial “A, B, C” jewelry can be hard to find, but at Clarabella shoppers can purchase custom letters from Manhattan based artist Carla Caruso (http://CarlaCarusoJewelry.com) in both sterling silver and gold. Initials can be ordered with or without stones. Classic and simple designs from LA designer Zoe Chicco (http://www.ZoeChicco.com) in leather, woods, sterling silver and gold are also available. Also available is the By Boe line created by designer Annika Salame located at 172 Prince Street in SoHo.

Clarabella’s variety of shoes and boots are as sexy and fresh as its accessory collection. A perfect example is Williamsburg designer Cheyenne Morris who often travels to Italy to oversee production of her line Tashkent (http://www.TashkentNYC.com). These designs are trendy with a flair for the sophisticated and the adventurous with its unusual heel shapes. Also look out for boots and by Mariana Brazilian and Faryl Robin flats.

For purses and wallets, Clarabella offers pieces by Lulla Bella of San Franciso who uses buttery soft matte and shiny patent leathers in her designs (http://www.LullaBellaCo.com). Tracey Tanner’s, For textured pig skin purses and wallets lined in retro vintage fabrics and whimsical skull prints shoppers can opt for Tracey Tanner. Tracey’s pieces include cuffs and other leather accessories. For extra flavor, she names her wallets, purses and fun little pouches after real people, including one called “Erin” after the owner of Clarabella. Small items such as these are great bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts. (http://www.traceytanner.com).
