Oh So Thrifty! (Pt. 2) Second-Hand & Vintage Shopping - 'Name Your Own Price'
This shopping day requires a $5 non-refundable registration fee for each person to join, and at the end you pay what you think it is worth!
Join ZTrend as we shop the second-hand and consignment shops of New York's beautiful west side. We have so many favorite places that we had to break the day into two parts (Part 1 & Part 2). On part 2 our shopping day will begin at front of Hu Kitchen on 5th Avenue. Today is about fashionable clothing finds at amazing prices with some vintage in between. New York City is one of the richest cities in the world where people eat, love, and wear beautiful things. So expect to be introduced to New York's favorite second-hand shops where stores offer wonderful new and gently worn contemporary clothing, as well as vintage clothing (bearing a higher price tag than thrift shops).
You are welcome to arrive early to enjoy an afternoon pick-me-up beverage or a delicious bite before we begin a day of fabulous thrifty finds. Hu's Kitchen is a casual eatery serving grass-fed meats, veggie-oriented and gluten-free dishes (many organic), offering juices, bowls, soups, main entries, and sweet treats. MENU (Food and beverages are not included).
SHOPPING SELECTION INCLUDES: Expect to visit 6 to 8 shops during our time together. Mostly gently priced clothing for women; shoes and fashion accessories; some bric-a-brac; there will be a small selection of men's clothing; vintage handbags, gloves, hats and antique items.
IF JOINING ON THE WEEKEND: Add 30 minutes of shopping (3 hours total). Once your shopping day had adjourned, you will have the opportunity to explore with friends, the last outdoor vintage flea market in New York City, as well as an indoor antique market full of surprises.
HISTORY OF THE CHELSEA ANTIQUE MARKET
Back in the 80s and 90s eight parking lots would transform into vintage-antique markets overnight, showcasing over 800 dealers from New York and neighboring states. Dealers would arrive at 2 a.m. to set up their space for the weekend crowd to browse their rare finds. While those days are long gone, ZTrend will reveal to you the remaining places for you to shop and browse for the unusual, the bizarre and the unique.
LUNCH AND COFFEE BREAK ONCE YOUR SHOPPING DAY HAS ADJOURNED: 'Eataly' is just around the corner for coffee and lunch to relax and recharge.
NOTE: This shopping day will end near 25th and Broadway.
