The loss of income for New York City's small independent businesses is beyond severe. I have become friends with many of the shop owners and see first hand how devastating the mandated closure of their business is for them. Unfortunately most will not survive New York City Mayor De Blasio's decision to not consider all small business essential to the Big Apple. Is it not the restaurants, shopping, and of course the tallent on Broadway why
people are attracted to New York City?
Logically if all deemed non-essential small businesses were allowed to open their doors and follow the same guidelines that food stores and other deemed essential businesses have been following, they too should be able to open for business as well. If businesses don't open soon Mayor De Blasio's decision will be the Coup de gras of New York as we have come to know it.
With that being said I can only guesstimate when my shopping experiences will resume:
- Private wardrobe editing by appointment only is projected to resume on Wednesday, July 1st.
- Reservations to shop are expected to resume on Tuesday, September 1st.
