Bump Brooklyn can make getting dressed for pregnant life easy and fun. Discover contemporary maternity and transitional clothing that is realistically priced and thoughtfully designed to wear during any stage of your pregnancy. With fashion backgrounds in addition to being moms themselves, owners, Hannah Macdonald and SaSaDi Odunsi made their vision come true in 2007 when opening Bump, a much needed clothing store for new moms in the area. “Give up wine, coffee and sushi – not fashion” is their catchphrase.
Clothing styles are young and fresh, and even appeals to the non-pregnant among us! Designers are chosen based on cuts and silhouettes that flatter a woman at all stages of her pregnancy. Bump carries many modern lines in addition to a full selection of specialty nursing apparel and gear.
Look for The Belly Bandit, a maternity must-have, (excellent for C-sections) designed to support the lower back and flatten the tummy back into shape after a pregnancy. The Belly Band allows a woman to continue wearing her favorite pre-pregnancy clothes a little bit longer. A favorite item is the hand-painted linen Japanese P-Sling. Not only is it beautiful to look at and wear, it’s the perfect luxury baby sling for nursing and traveling. They also carry an intimate jewelry selection and organic handmade body care line for new moms and their babies to keep skin soft and supple.
What makes Bump Brooklyn truly a special place are their frequent other get-togethers and events. Sign up for monthly mocktail parties with special expert guests speakers – local doulas, nutritionists, fitness experts, lactation consultants and photographers. This is a wonderful opportunity for new parents to meet other couples, providing a support group full of creative ideas and encouragement. Be sure to get on Bump’s event list. For information about upcoming gatherings, please contact them by phone or email.
Enjoy the comforts of Bump Brooklyn. A shop designed to inspire and offer comfort to new moms. Look and feel wonderful!
Decorating the walls of Bump are amazingly beautiful canvas portraits by Brooklyn-based photographer, Roberto Falck.
