Owner Christine Demmick is responsible for creating these delicious scented home products. All products are crulty free – absolutely no ingredient used in the formulation of her products has been tested on animals. She has received the Leaping Bunny: cruelty-free certification from the coalition for consumer information on cosmetics.
Vegetable based cleaning & laundry products are formulated using locally sourced ingredients and some imported from Europe. All are free of phosphate and sulfates and cleaners are made using biodegradable surfacents.
Bath and body soaps, candles, potpourri, room sachets and fragrances — this little store with its European sensibility has just about anything you can imagine to add a touch of scent to your living environment.
With its natural, cruelty-free, vegan scents, the Good Home Company pledges wonderful fragrance in homes without any of the requisite chemicals.
The brand’s flagship boutique is located in Chelsea, with a European-inspired décor as sweet as its mission. Inside, its pale lilac walls are complemented by bursts of vibrant flowers in vases, and trim white shelves bearing brightly-colored fragrances in glass bottles.
The available signature scents for the store’s creations consist of: Beach Days®, a fragrance freshly reminiscent of a day by the sea; Italian citrus®, a sparkling combination of grapefruit, lemon and orange; Lavender and Village Lavender™, which evokes the calm scent of the French countryside; Paris Rain™, a distillation of a Parisian garden after a summer rain; and lastly, Pure Grass® and Summer Grass™, an ode to driving through the countryside with the windows rolled down and the sweet notes of the warm season in the air.
Another popular Good Home Company offering is its potpourri — in the center of the boutique, a wooden counter contains a variety of fresh selections in its drawers, allowing for custom-made creations sold by the cup.
In fact, potpourri parties at the boutique are an especial hit with the sweet-sixteen crowd, who love the creativity of creating custom blends.
In addition, the Good Home Company offers a variety of other products as well, for the laundry, kitchen, bathroom, bath, and so on — all fashioned with the same au natural, sustainable spirit.
Headily sweet lavender dryer sachets consist of 100% lavender flower; a luxurious line of Pre de Provence soaps are created from ingredients imported from France; fragrant soy wax candles infuse any room with a signature scent; dish soap, made from natural, biodegradable, vegetable-based surfactants, promises gentleness to tableware and skin alike.
For the passionate D.I.Y.er’s, the store’s website also offers a variety of tips, tutorials, and how-to videos, which cover subjects from flower arrangement in the home to creating one’s own perfume.
Christine Demmick, who established the Good Home Company in 1995, was inspired by her grandparents’ farm in Ohio and a vision of all-natural home care products. She has previously won the prestigious CEW award for Best Home Fragrance.
