Alex Story

Alex Story

Alex Story has been reviewed by ZTrend.

Alex Story is a skillful sculptor turned jeweler whose unique jewelry line was inspired by the idea of wearing art. Story states, "I wanted to give people the option to make use of sculpture. Instead of just appreciating with your eye, why not wear it?"

Having studied different forms of visual art in London and Paris, Story pulls from a vast multitude of mediums for her inspiration. Story continues to develop her craft and to refine her personal style by studying the construction of jewelry in New York City.

Her entire jewelry line is made by hand. The process begins with the carving of wax into captivating shapes and is then cast in silver, platinum or gold. Uncommon ring and pendant shapes are refreshingly unusual statement pieces. Some rings may be worn stacked while others seal the show being worn alone, beautifully embellished with precious and semi-precious stone centers. Each piece is so whimsical and different from the other they appear to take own a personality of their own.

One can easily see the muse sculpture plays in Story's work with each distinctive piece. Story's necklaces tend toward nature. A claw, mushroom and steer head are just a few of the many familiar images you can expect to find. Story also makes exquisite bracelets and playful keychains that are sure to attract attention. Story's jewelry line is a must for any jewelry lover as each piece is attitude-fuelled art that will tribute the most casual to the most glamorous outfit.
