From a fond childhood memory "Dusty Buttons" is named. Reminiscent of her early childhood, boutique owner Amanda Loureiro recalls the time she had spent as a young girl with her Nana, playing for hours with beautiful antique buttons kept in a jar. To this day, she cherishes the moments spent with her Nana and the dusty red-lidded jar.
Loureiro stands by the down-to-earth catchphrase "reduce, reuse and recycle." Not only are they wise words to live by but words to shop by as well considering so much of today's fashions will become tomorrow's waste. Since opening in October 2009, Dusty Buttons has remained true to its eco-conscious roots: everything sold in the boutique has an eco-friendly edge weather it is a vintage piece or simply made in the USA. This boutique is stocked full of timeless vintage clothing, shoes and accessories from the 50s, 60s and 70s which blend appealingly with newer apparel as well. Having collected and adored vintage throughout her life, launching a vintage boutique with an eco-concious edge was the natural choice for Loureiro.

In addition to the clothing and accessories there is a nice selection of wonderful, working vintage Polaroid Cameras. The classic Polaroid models include 320, 420 and SX70. Each camera is sold complete with film and batteries, so the customer can walk out of the store with a like-new vintage Polaroid camera that is ready to use and enjoy. Supplying your new-vintage camera with film is easy because the Impossible Project produces new instant film materials for classic Polaroid cameras.
Sprinkled throughout the store are random personal and travel accessories; keep an eye out for vintage home decor items tucked above on the higher shelving. Fashionable additions to the vintage clothing mix are constantly being added, such as 1950's circle skirts and eco-friendly boots. For the Worishoffer lovers out there, Dusty Buttons stocks these trendy German orthopedic sandals in most any size, new and in the box. Other good finds include mid-century dead stock sunglasses sold off the original 1950's display; gently used hand-painted vintage lorgnettes (with original cases); and authentic airline flight bags. Loureiro tells us, "when you buy a vintage piece you are buying a piece of the past." The shop’s merchandise is personally selected by Ms. Loureiro, and her savvy clientele keep returning to indulge their passions at Dusty Buttons, a vintage wonderland.
