Housing Works is an advocacy endeavor that seeks to end the crisis of AIDS. While there are advocacy offices located throughout the city, the SoHo location has a bookstore café with a staff of volunteers that gives all profits to Housing Works. The thrift shop locations work in the same way, and generous donations help drive the organization. On-line auctions filled with fine art and other distinguished items can be bid on daily by visiting their auction website: http://shop.housingworks.org/currentAuctions.cfm. Housing Works also offers lifesaving services such as housing resources and medical care.
