Before you get dressed, you must check out these excellent French threads. Stocked with Aksel's limited edition, "ready-to-wear" shirts and accessories for men, Aksel offers custom made-to-order shirts and full-canvas suits sewn from luxurious Scottish wools and fabrics from Holland & Sherry. Shirts are tailored to flatter with a touch of sophistication, yet casual enough to wear with your favorite pair of jeans. Made from 100% Italian and Turkish cotton, shirts are fit for royalty with their high collars and special touches such as contrasting buttonhole threading; cuffs and collar linings in vibrant colors and patterns. Not only will Aksel's stylish shirts make you look great with their slimming fit, but they will make you feel good from the inside-out: In conjunction with the charitable foundation, Commonthreadz.org, a donation from each shirt sold will supply one school uniform to a needy child in rural Africa.

Designed in Paris with flair, these European men's shirts and custom tailored suits are uniquely fashioned. Distinct fabrication to Aksel's ready-to-wear shirts are the curved four-inch double inseams, slimming to the torso. High and extra-high collars prevent the shirt from sinking into the jacket, and look great with or without a tie. Special details include; colorfully lined patterned cuffs with contrasting collar linings, colored button hole stitching and positioning, finished with either traditional round, signature octagon or square buttons. With new merchandise arriving bi-monthly, "off-the-rack" shirts are available in over 60 different patterns and styles, in sizes S - XXL with same day delivery in Manhattan.
Sewn locally in New Jersey, with a two week turn-around, custom shirts are made from your choice of machine washable Turkish or Italian cotton fabrics. Custom paneled, fully lined, full-canvas suits are tailored in Hong Kong with a four to five week fabrication period. Select from one of many fine fabrics from Holland & Sherry, suppliers to prestigious tailors and luxury brands for more than a century. Established in England in 1836, headquartered in Central London on Savile Row, Holland & Sherry are the producers of the finest cloths from around the world, specializing in animal fiber tweeds and weaves.
While Aksel's fine fabrics, signature styles and details are important to the brand, equally important to Aksel is their message within. Inspired from a five-thousand year old alphabetic script used by the North African Berber people, the brand is named in memory of Prince Aksel, a Berber leader, who fought for the freedom of his people —the Imazinghen (literally translates to "free people"). Partnering with Commonthreadz.org, a non-profit organization, for every Aksel shirt sold, one school uniform is donated to a child in need. The SoHo boutique supports local artists, with rotating interior installations four to six times a year. The shop also stocks accent wardrobe pieces such as Danish sweaters, French scarves and socks.
