Lay to rest the verity of "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Treasures abound! Made from glorious works on paper, this charming assortment of glass trays, plates, coasters and paperweights emerges as art using the age-old technique of decoupage.
In business for almost six years, Carol Kaas has perfected a style called decoupage under glass. Each piece is put together by hand using reprinted images that she has collected from frequent trips to flea markets, antique shows and estate sales.
With a manifest femininity, the Kaas GlassWorks collection ranges from romantic old images of birds, botanicals and animals to scripted penmanship, architecture and rare maps.
For an additional fee, they will even decoupage a custom tray or plate using your own treasured keepsake. For holidays, birthdays, or what-have-you, what better gift is there than a lasting memory created from your own personal memorabilia? Unique fodder for custom trays include your child’s first drawing, your parent’s wedding invitation or an old family letter.
Both decorative and functional, the trays can be hung on the wall with the use of a simple plate hanger, or used as an "everything" dish on a bedside or dining room table.
And while they are food-safe, please take heed of the care instructions for these unique objects: Do not submerge in water. Gently hand wash and dry immediately.
