Look pretty wearing beautiful vintage inspired silk dresses for special occasions and every day wear. At Kimera , Yvonne Chu breathes a glimmer of glamor into each dress she creates. Inspired by the graceful fashion of the1950’s, Yvonne designs Hollywood dresses and gowns that only a movie star, like Audrey Hepburn or Jackie O would wear. Classic designs for the modern women.
Customers may purchase dresses off the rack with a fitting session or they may choose to have a dress designed, made to measure. When clients ask for Yvonne to replicate a vintage dress from a photo or the dress it’s self, rather than recreating the exact piece, Yvonne will collaborate with the client to create a new lovely dress inspired by the past. Working with exotic silks: organza, douppioni, shantung and chiffon from India and brocades from China, customers may choose from a large selection of color swatches.
Among the sweet “off the rack” selection at Kimera you will also find a limited production of dresses made from novelty fabrics that Yvonne finds in her travels, some with delicate exclusive prints and others in beautiful silk-cotton voiles.
No need for today’s modern bride to wear her wedding gown just once. Because Kimara’s gowns are classic by design, brides and brides maids bring back their pretty silk gowns to be shortened into a perfect dinner length to be worn again and again - a dollar well spent.
Lucky is the women fortunate enough to have received a dress from a talent like Yvonne Cho. Her prices are amazing as each dress is custom created, made to measure and silk lined. Be sure to venture down stairs and visit Iris Lingerie, where Iris Clarke will customize your brazier for a perfect fitting.
A selection of hair accessories, ring bearing pillows, flower girl bags by Anai and bridal jewelry exclusive to Kimera by local Jewelry designer, Julie Seidell.
