When you shop at The Thrifty HoG charity shop, you are not only treating yourself to quality vintage and high end fashion, but you are also making a difference in the lives of homeless mothers and their children. HoG is short for Hearts of Gold, a not-for-profit organization that came about in 1996 by founder Deborah Koenigsberger. The entire stock of clothing for men, women and children, as well as home décor items, comes from generous donations, and all of the proceeds from this upscale, resale boutique directly benefit those supported by HoG.
For single women who have succeeded in establishing their own home Koenigsberger has created a second charity to prevent falling back into homelessness. The Alumni Support Group (ASG) continues to provide important essentials necessary to sustain productive lives while on the path to independence.
