Small cafés like this are a rarity in New York, where wholesome ingredients and fresh baked goods are sourced from vendors who care about quality. The food is fresh and the price is fair with a well-edited menu offering a range of tastes, exactly what you would expect from a fancy cafe, without the high prices. Wayside is open early, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a seasonal menu that includes choices to suit vegetarian and vegan diets.

Inspired by the American luxury travel vehicle, Airstream, where everything is near by, the interior is small yet sleek and spacious, incorporating warm white oak and modern Poly-Crete flooring. In the evening the cafe takes on a different mood—with candle lit interior you can relax with a glass of wine and cheese platter. Select from Wayside's wine menu of well-balanced reds and whites, from regions around the world. Every night from 5 to 8 p.m. you are sure to enjoy $6 wine and half-priced beers.

A little café doesn't get better than Wayside, with its  inviting interior and freshly prepared foods made with quality conscious ingredients.

Steeped in two generations of good food and adventure comes the inspiration for Wayside—a family café owned by two brother's, and a son with a passion for film making and travel. Wayside literally means "side of the road". With that being said, the compact sleek interior is an abstraction of the All-American luxury leisure travel vehicle, Airstream, where everything you need is near by.

The minimalist interior is built with practical materials throughout. Clean white walls, with minimal decor, combined with simple perimeter bench seating and eating surfaces made from white oak, creates a spacious atmosphere. Keeping in touch with honest materials, the stainless steel stools and Poly-Crete flooring adds a touch of modern industrialism.

Wayside's brief menu offers healthy options with a range of tastes, exactly what you would expect from an fancy cafe without the high prices. The majority of the meals are priced under $10. Choose from a selection of seasonal soups and sandwiches, including savory pão de queijo--Brazilian cheese bread, all freshly prepared on site.

Baked goods are delivered daily from outstanding local bakeries such as Balthazar, This Chick Bakes and Sweet Sam's. Coffee drinkers will regale in the selection of freshly Brewed Toby's Estate coffee beans, a small-batch roaster located in Brooklyn, New York. And for tea lovers there is In Pursuit of Tea, a small tea company from a Massachusetts.

Unwind from your workday among friends with good food and conversation. Nightly, from 5:30 p.m. to close, the WiFi is turned off for a candlelit evening. Wine is served by the bottle (starting at $28) or poured by the glass. Enjoy happy hour with special priced wine and beers between 5 - 8 p.m. daily. Consider pairing your drink of choice with a cheese and salami plate, or hummus platter. Wayside's menu of wines include regions from Argentina, California, France and Spain, as well organic choices.

There are too many reasons to love this place, but all you need is one. Wayside is family a owned café—a place to enjoy good food, good drinks, good coffee and desserts.
