It’s hard to pass up such a well-dressed window displaying so many fine vintage items. We love this place! It’s one of the best little upscale nonprofit thrift shops in Manhattan benefiting the United Jewish Council of the East Side. If you can remember what a Manhattan second-hand store was in the 1980s, this would be it. Lots and lots of fantastic things for your wardrobe and apartment. Vintage Thrift is constantly restocking their racks and shelves with great new-old stuff and contemporary designer clothing. Many donations are new stock that come straight from designers.

Specializing in men and women’s vintage clothing circa 1940s to 1980s, with some pieces dating back to the 1920s. You will find fine costume jewelry, antiques and vanity items and other collectables. Shop for bedroom sets, dining sets and wonderful sets of chinaware straight from the 50s. Everything is in spectacular shape and priced to move.

If you are into vintage things, treat yourself to this vintage boutique. Vintage Thrift is a green business as all pieces are recycled.

We sell the goodies on display in our Third Avenue window by an informal silent auction. Here's how it works:

You'll find a typed list of the items included in each window display (north window & south window) near our store register —each item is assigned an identifying number, description, and a minimum bid. The ending date for the auction is also on the sheet.

While each auction is active, customers may bid on items by writing their name, phone number, and bid amount on the bid sheet. All bids after the first must be at least 10% higher than the previous bid.

When the auction ends, whoever has placed the highest bid on a particular item is the winner. Winning bidders who are present at the store at auction-end are expected to pay for their item at that time (assuming that it meets with their satisfaction after they've examined it).

Winning bidders not present at auction-end will be notified of their winning bid by telephone on the following morning. Winners then have forty-eight hours to come by to purchase their items.
