Drink prices are high but the view is worth it. A sexy martini lounge, on the 18th floor of the trendy Standard hotel, located off the High Line Park in Meatpacking, frames a picture perfect view for visitors as well as New Yorkers, with its floor-to-ceiling windows. Intimate lounge seating has been strategically designed for couples and groups to embrace a most enjoyable view of Manhattan: Lady Liberty as well as Brooklyn show in the distance. A menu of light portions are served at the bar and throughout the lounge. Flanking the swanky main room are two sunken areas with pool tables and working fireplaces — unwind with a friendly game of pool alongside an unforgettable Manhattan view. The "Top of the Standard" also known as "The Boom Boom Room" is a must for everyone who comes to the City. It gets better .... Riding the Standard Hotel's elevator offers you a one-of-a-kind art installation experience that ushers in the view at the top. Inside, the car plays motionographer Marco Brambilla's "Civilization" — an animated collage, comprised of 200 individual videos, depicting heaven and hell. It is the artist's interpretation of one's ascension into a heavenly world yet to be seen; as you descend in the elevator downward, along with the video's descent into "hell" onto on the streets of Manhattan.
