Step up off the city streets into Amigos de Tierra's "Friend's of the Earth," eco-friendly boutique, where a glimpse of paradise can be experienced in wearable art. The rustic wood interior and ambient Latin music create an atmosphere reminiscent of an island shopping excursion far from Manhattan.

Organic leathers and flower-based dyes are used in creating one facet of an artist's ongoing vision. Writer and artist, Francisco Javier Rahim, brings his life project to Spring Street where a kaleidoscope of cultural art can be found in the form of Jewelry, hair-wear, clothing and accessories. Everything is made by hand and beautifully crafted in the Canary Islands. Elegant macramé jewelry is knotted with semiprecious stones and cultured pearls using natural waxed cord that is not only refined in beauty, but durable, malleable and long-lasting. Prices will range from low to high depending upon the time involved in making the piece.

Included in Rahim's pursuit of beautiful things, is his love for music. Available in the boutique are a number of CDs recorded on the Tierra record label, featuring world fusion compilations of Latin sounds from around globe. Three additional boutiques are located in Spain: two in Madrid and one in Lanzarote.
