Unlike the fragrance's strength, the word cologne was originally termed, to describe a spirit-citrus fragrance, combined with multiple floral mono-essences: a fragrance originating back in 1709, in Cologne, Germany, by Giovanni Maria Farina, an Italian perfume maker from Valle Vignezzo; who had created the very first bottle eau de Cologne, in honor of his new hometown, Cologne, in memory of the citrus-filled morning spring air during his youth.

Scents are then formulated in Grasse, France; renowned for over two centuries for their superior perfume making techniques.

Each scent requires two to three years to create and is sold in a variety of sizes: 30mL travel size bottles are neatly fitted into soft Tunisian leather jackets available in aubergine, turquoise or violet; 100mL and 200mL sizes include leather lids, crafted by one of Paris' oldest watchband makers.
