“Honest. Genuine. Trustworthy.” These words are plastered on the iconic columns inside C.O. Bigelow Chemists, an apothecary nestled in the heart of Greenwich Village. Staying true to its motto, Bigelow has been servicing its customers with a high degree of care and personalization for almost 200 years. Part pharmacy, part historic landmark, with it original 1830s decor, gilded working Gasoliers (gas-burning chandeliers) and antique oak shelving. Bigelow offers a unique shopping experience — one that has been enjoyed by historical dignitaries such as Eleanor Roosevelt and Thomas Edison, and modern-day figures such as Susan Sarandon and Calvin Klein.
