Before Rebecca & Drew came onto the scene, finding a beautifully tailored woman's dress shirt off-the-rack was a hunt. Let's face it — the button-down shirt is a classic wardrobe essential, crisp and intelligent, yet it remains one of the most difficult pieces to purchase. With different measurements and bra sizes, no two women's body types are alike. It is frustrating, if not altogether impossible, to find a button-down shirt that isn’t overly tight at the bust line or saggy around the waist.  

Over five years ago, the designer duo Rebecca Matchett and Drew Paluba unveiled their solution to this common problem: the revolutionary TrioFit System. Three set of measurements are taken in order to produce the flawlessly fitted shirt: bra size, torso height and circumference.

The TrioFit System is then applied to one of the two “body shapes” to arrive at a custom size — Soft and Smooth, which consists of a narrow, fitted waist and tapered shoulders, and Strong and Confident, which consists of broader shoulders and straighter cut. A series of over 70 try-on shirts shows you how the shirt fits prior to placing the order.   

Rebecca & Drew’s customization process is a simple and fun means of creating your perfect shirt. Once your shirt size is determined, you begin by selecting from over 30 quality fabrics featured in the seasonal swatch books. Soft imported Italian silks and gorgeous Portuguese cottons are available in solids, stripes and prints. Next, you can customize the style of every remaining feature of the shirt, including sleeve length, cuffs, collar, buttons, and pockets. You can even add classic monograms, various embroideries, or charming accents like polka dot trim. Down to the very detail, you can feel like the shirt is wholly yours.

Throughout the entire shirt customization process, you will receive personal, individualized attention from Rebecca & Drew’s National Sales Coordinator and in-house fitting expert, Lila Smith. Her years of experience have given her the ability to expertly size up any client. Fittings accommodate women with bra sizes ranging from 32A to 38DD, with adjustments possible for larger sizes.

The Insignia collection is Rebecca & Drew’s version of off-the-rack, and consists of their most popular shirt designs ready for immediate purchase. All shirts are designed using the TrioFit and Body Shape formula to assure the same flattering, tailored fit. There is the same fee whether you choose an Insignia or custom shirt, with the exception of possible minor upcharges.

Rebecca & Drew’s shop is located in a beautifully sunlit loft space in the Garment District. The spacious setting accommodates individuals to large office parties. Private appointments may be arranged in the early morning hours, afternoons or after work. The average fitting takes from 60 to 90 minutes.
