Seasonal Whispers, Seasonal Whispers Opens in NoLIta
Seasonal Whispers Opens in NoLIta
The daylong grand opening was nothing to keep quiet about
Seasonal Whispers, 4 Prince Street, New York, NY 10012

The opening of Seasonal Whispers’ new store on Prince Street caused a hype quite louder than its name. On Thursday, July 25th, the family-owned, handmade jewelry brand hosted an all-day celebration at its newest location, where guests received giveaways and 30% off discount when shopping.

Seasonal Whispers is an exquisite line of handcrafted jewelry designed in TriBeCa, by mother-daughter duo, Esther Lixenberg and Yafit Goldfarb. Their creations include elegant necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings, many plated in 24 karat gold and sterling silver over stainless steel base metal and flexible wire, making them light as a feather to wear.

Thursday night Yafit was a warm-hearted hostess, eager to greet guests and personally serve them drinks of kegged beer and sparkling wine. Attendees nibbled on locally made doughnuts from the Doughnut Plant as they shopped about, with DJ MDMF spinning electric tunes in the background. Everyone was most abuzz over Seasonal Whispers’ popular wrap bracelets and rings presented as giveaways.

The storefront flaunted an avant-garde display of elaborately posed white mannequins (one dramatically wore flashy peace signs) covered in Seasonal Whispers jewelry for an intense display of color. Watermelons lay at their feet, and were even served as a snack, alongside an African djembe drum, foreshadowing the store’s earthy and exotic vibe. The Prince Street location is Seasonal Whispers’ third boutique, in addition to one located on Murray Street and another on West Broadway in SoHo. In three weeks a fourth Seasonal Whispers is set to open on Howard Street, which will include part of the TriBeCa jewelry factory so customers can view the products being crafted behind a glass wall as they shop.

Yafit expects the Prince Street store to be younger and hipper than the previous two, with a lot of high energy – mostly due to its prime neighborhood. It didn’t take long for her predictions to come true as the evening rolled in, bringing along a youthful crowd of stylish hipsters to the party, some even arrived on skateboards.

No matter what their age, all guests fluttered about trying on beaded bracelets and crystal-encrusted rings, and discovering the many ways to wear the convertible stone necklaces. Tyler, Yafit’s 20-year-old daughter, showed everyone how it was done, by accessorizing her cream colored bohemian dress with a gorgeous beaded Seasonal Whispers choker and stacking layers of bracelets on her arms. Her mother accessorizes more modestly, but wore a gold jumpsuit, perhaps to coordinate with the jewelry on display, or better yet, to allude to her brand’s success.

“Today is like Christmas!” Yafit exclaimed, as she handed out giveaways. With an unforgettable boutique opening, a thriving family business and a devoted customer base that encompasses everyone from close friends to A-list celebrities, it looks like she’s been on the nice list.
