current costume sale & upcoming Diva's at Home Event Nov. 6, 2013
It's a sad place in time to hear that the New York City Opera, after 70 years of performances has filed for bankruptcy. We are not sure if the Opera will go on, only time will tell if they have plans to restructure while taking a brief brake. City Opera Thrift Shop has always supported the creation and design of costumes for productions at the New York City Opera, but what now? While we are sad about the Opera's performances, there are many more who will be heartbroken if City Opera Thrift Shop closes. Where will people go to find some of the most delicious clothing and home donations? Relax. We are told that City Opera Thrift will continue to operate seven days a week, and in the future if the Opera does not restructure their is talk on taking on a new charity.
Costumes from your favorite performances can now be found for sale on the upper floor of City Opera Thrift Shop. Visit daily and remember to visit their website for future events: Costume sale happening now; Wednesday, November 6 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. City Opera Thrift will be hosting "Divas at Home," an evening of fine furnishings, art and antiques at unbelievably low prices.
