Alidoro

A sandwich doesn't get any better than Alidoro's, formerly known as Melampo. This little no-frills neighborhood sandwich shop has been making fine Italian specialty sandwiches on Sullivan Street for the past 25 years. The shop has retained the original menu, offering by name, a variety of 40 different combination sandwiches.

All sandwiches are handmade, made-to-order, created from simple fresh ingredients served on Italian hero bread. For an extra charge the bread may be substituted with focaccia, semolina, sfilatino, or tramezzino bread.

Despite business hours, once the bread is gone, the doors close. Bottled waters and soft drinks are available. Ideal for take-out or eat in. There is one sidewalk cafe table and three tables inside.
