Dirty Bird serves slowly prepared comfort food made with healthy, organic seasonal ingredients. Delicious Southern-inspired chicken dishes are made with free-range organic chickens, raised without hormones or antibiotics. The soulful comfort food menu includes traditional Southern fried chicken with a crispy spiced buttermilk crust, and golden brown rotisserie chicken served in parts or whole. Choose from one of the many healthy side dishes to complete your plate: homemade mashed potatoes, Wisconsin cheddar mac n' cheese, or one of several daily fresh, local and sustainable organic vegetables.

Chicken is juicy and tender served with a slice of homemade cornbread. Table condiments include homemade tri-color pepper vinegar and spicy hot sauce — perfect for drizzling on top of the crispy deep fried buttermilk crust.

Eat-in or take-out. Phone in or order online for pick up or delivery. Their online picture menu is a nice touch for first time orders. Beware, portions are not skimpy. You may want to leave room for one of their delicious homemade desserts. They also feature MUD Coffee and Tazo Teas. Dirty Bird knows their chicken — healthy fast-food with a conscious mind.

Who knew? Dirty Bird is featured in Clean Plates NYC, as one of the 75 healthiest, tastiest restaurants in Manhattan. Why? In addition to the fresh organic veggies and rBST free dairy, they offer all natural, veggie fed, antibiotic free chickens that have been humanly raised in Pennsylvania Amish Country.
